Carlos Alberto Schneider Carlos Alberto Schneider holds a degree in mechanical engineering from the Universidade Federal de Santa Catarina [Federal University of Santa Catarina (UFSC)] and a Ph.D. in metrology/automation from Rheinisch Westfahlische Technische Hochschule, Aachen, Germany. He is the general manager of Fundação CERTI (Reference Center Foundation for Innovative Technologies), president of the Brazilian Metrology Society and member of the decision-making council of IEL/SC and SEBRAE/SC. |
| Furthermore, he implemented the master and Ph.D. degrees in metrology and instrumentation in the Federal University of Santa Catarina, where he is a full professor in the mechanical engineering department. He acted as advisor in 35 master degree dissertations and five Ph.D. theses, and up to now has published approximately 23 international and 20 national scientific studies. In 2002, he received the Banas Quality Award for Quality Professor of the Year, and in 1998, the Brazilian Scientific Order of Merit. He is a former member of the decision-making council of CNPq - Conselho Nacional de Pesquisa [Brazilian Research Council]. | |
